Donna Sloane Ruhl, R.D.A. - C.D.A.

"I started my dental experience with too many teeth and a very little mouth! (Well anatomically that is!) So when my childhood dentist was able to correct my horrible smile, I became extremely interested and grateful to the dental profession.

When I was in tenth grade, I got my first job in the dental profession in a local dental lab! This proved to be very helpful, and allowed me to learn the arts and crafts aspect of dentistry first hand. I soon became interested in learning more about dentistry and had the desire to work with actual patients instead of impressions and models. I started on the job dental assisting in 1982, and later after high school, went to B.C.C and earned and Associates in Science degree in dental assisting. I deliberately chose to try every type of specialty dentistry had to offer. I worked with some amazing doctors, Endodontists, Orthodontists, Pedodontists, and Periodontists; all helping me formulate my love for the profession.

Many times over the years, I felt inspired by the doctors I worked with. However, I still wanted to be involved with patient care. I enjoy people! So with that being said, I decided to go on to Dental Hygiene school. I went to Miami Dade where I graduated with honors, and earned my Dental Hygiene Degree. After I graduated, I moved from job to job; until I met Flamingo Dental Group!

I knew the type of atmosphere and type of doctor's I wanted to work with. I have been blessed to be apart of such a great team here at Flamingo Dental Group! I have been here for almost ten years, and never plan on leaving… unless I win the lottery! All of the staff at Flamingo Dental Group are extremely caring and special individuals. All of the doctors are compassionate, honest, and funny!

When my daily life as a mother of two fabulous adolescent girls takes its toll, it feels great to come to work! I consider myself very lucky to have them as employers, and friends! I give all my patients quality care, the utmost respect regarding their needs and concerns, and often I add a little humor! I do my best offer whatever my patient needs at every dental visit.

I have been married for fourteen years to a wonderful man. We enjoy camping, quiet time alone, listening to music, tackling home improvements, and raising our two beautiful daughters. When I am not at work I enjoy caring for orchids and being a Girl Scout leader for two great troops. I am grateful for a full and hectic life! In closing I'd like to say, Flamingo Dental Group is a group of individuals that will help brighten your smile and your day!"
